The provincial government of British Columbia has approved a proposed expansion of one of TransCanada’s natural gas pipelines in the region.

For the TransCanada’s Towerbirch expansion project has been issued an environment assessment certificate by the province, the line stretches 87 km from near Dawson Creek into northern Alberta. British Columbia’s government includes some conditions as the creation of a heritage management plan and TransCanada’s participation in efforts to monitor and assess the effects of the project.
Some news sources have reported that the expansion will increase the capacity of pipelines in order to handle the increased growth of production.
