New York biomass plant could soon be in place: the financing for the estimated $275 million facility could be available by the end of September.
The facility would be located at the 95-acre Taylor Recycling Facility LLC, a construction and demolition recycling operation in Montgomery. After seeking various sources for financing, including from the U.S. Department of Energy, Taylor is seeking funding from undisclosed private lenders.
Taylor Biomass Energy would use the gasification process to convert organic waste to a gas tha can be burned to produce electricity; this project is expected to create 82 permanent jobs and 318 construction jobs.
