Bacolod City Vice Mayor said that received a business proposal from a company to put up a waste-to-energy plant to process the waste at Barangay Felisa dumpsite.

The company would install, operate, and maintain their small, modular renewable energy municipal solid waste processing project in Bacolod, which is capable of processing from 50 tons to 1,000 tons per day of municipal solid waste. The company will process 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The benefits of the waste-to-energy to the local government unit are no waste on site, significant savings, environmental compliance, employment generation, revenue from the tipping or gate fees collected from its nearby municipalities, even the possibility of expanding clients and increasing daily.
